It falls within the Pharmaceutical Purification Materials division of the Health Care business segment of our parent company OSAKA SODA CO., LTD.
History
1915
A pioneer of industrial scale caustic soda manufacturing by electrolysis, Osaka Soda Co., Ltd. was founded in 1915. Through our unique electrolysis technology, we have expanded the possibilities of chemistry to develop products supporting a variety of industries.
1960s
By the 1960’s our know-how in chemical production and organic synthesis led us to expand into specialty chemicals through our growing portfolio of unique chemical technologies.
1990s
In the 1990’s Osaka Soda entered the healthcare business by applying our ever-growing chemical knowledgebase to the production of bulk silica gel; at the same time, demand was growing for large-scale chromatographic purification of pharmaceuticals using columns packed with porous bulk silica gel.
2010s+
In the 2010’s and 2020’s, we have expanded our bulk silica gel product line up one of the most diverse portfolios of various pore sizes, particle sizes, and bonded phases available, with over 300 products on the market globally.
Manufacturing
Since 1992, DAISOGEL has been proudly made in Japan under the direction of our dedicated manufacturing team at our Amagaski factory outside of Osaka, Japan.
One year later, in 1993, we added the Matsuyama plant and a chemical bonding facility, permitting us to offer derivatized silica gels such as reverse phase products for hydrophobic interactions, while also derisking our manufacturing operations with the addition of a second plant.
Employing the sol-gel manufacturing method, our bare silica is produced at high purity with consistent results, batch after batch. Our large manufacturing capacity across two sites can meet even the most significant volume requests for bulk silica gel, ensuring that DAISOGEL is available to customers around the world with short timelines.

DAISOGEL products are manufactured under ISO 9001 controlled conditions using our leading-edge sol-gel method with GMP compliance based on ICH-Q7A.
